IN250 Overview

The IN250 course equips participants with advanced skills in installing, splicing, terminating, and testing optical fiber cabling systems. It combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on training to prepare students for complex fiber optic installation projects.

Hands-On Training Includes:

• Installing, terminating, and testing multimode and singlemode fiber optic cables
• Fusion and mechanical splicing of optical fibers
• Connector installation using scribe-and-polish and pre-polished splice techniques
• Evaluating OTDR traces and performing insertion loss testing

• 5 days (theory and hands-on training)
• Includes written and hands-on performance exams

Prerequisites & Preparation

• Minimum 2 years of verifiable ICT cabling installation experience
• Recommended: Completion of Installer 1 (IN101) and Installer 2 Copper (IN225)
• Suggested: 50+ hours of self-study using the ITSIMM prior to class

Additional Exam Tasks: Candidates without Installer 2 Copper credentials may face additional written questions and hands-on tasks.
