Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites for Cisco Certified DevNet Expert, but you should have a good understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam. Candidates are recommended to have five to seven years of experience with designing, deploying, operating and optimizing NetDevOps technologies and solutions prior to taking the exam.

- 1.1 Design a solution based on an on-premises, hybrid, or public cloud deployment, considering these factors:
- Deployment: maintainability, modularity (e.g., containers, VM, orchestration, automation, components, and infrastructure requirements)
- Reliability: high availability and resiliency
- Performance: scalability, latency, and rate limiting
- Infrastructure: monitoring, observability, and metrics (e.g., instrument placement and instrument deployment)
- 1.2 Recommend a deployment strategy to mitigate risk and impact on service availability, for a given scenario
- 1.3 Modify an existing network automation solution based on business and technical requirements (includes gap analysis)
- 1.4 Use Git in a CI/CD development workflow
- 1.5 Troubleshoot issues with a CI/CD pipeline (e.g., code-based failures, pipeline issues, and tool incompatibility)
- 2.1 Make authenticated calls to AWS services.
- Communicate required policy based on least privileges required by application.
- Assume an IAM role to access a service
- Use the software development kit (SDK) credential provider on-premises or in the cloud to access AWS services (local credentials vs. instance roles)
- 2.2 Implement encryption using AWS services.
- Encrypt data at rest (client side; server side; envelope encryption) using AWS services
- Encrypt data in transit
- 2.3 Implement application authentication and authorization
- Add user sign-up and sign-in functionality for applications with Amazon Cognito identity or user pools

What to expect in the exam?
The 8 hours practical exam will assess candidate's skills through the entire network lifecycle of designing, deploying, operating and optimizing complex network scenarios. The exam consists out of 2 modules that are fixed in time and will be delivered in a fixed sequence:
What is the passing score for CCIE DevNet v1.0 Lab Exam?
Each module has both a minimum score and a pass score. Both minimum and pass scores are set on a per-module basis, based upon exam difficulty level.
- The pass score corresponds with expert level competence
- The minimum score is the absolute minimum score expected from an expert level candidate
To pass the exam, candidates need to score higher than the aggregated pass score of both modules and score higher than the minimum score set on each of the modules individually
If candidates score less than the overall aggregated pass score of both modules OR score less than the minimum score set on 1 (or more) of the individual modules, they will fail the exam. Upon passing the exam, candidates will not be provided any additional score details.
Candidates that fail the exam will be given a score report, indicating what module(s) they passed or failed. Additionally, candidates will be provided cumulative scoring percentages on a per domain level, across both modules.
